RUST’s kitchen during a 10-month exhibition at the National Building Museum in Washington!

America has always been, and will always be seen as a promised land, a country of many possibilities, a place where all dreams come true. Until recently “Made in the USA” was a sign of quality, prosperity and wealth. Nowadays, America chooses what is European, chooses “Made in Poland”. The products that reached us “behind the great water” were the most desirable by the average European citizen. Today we can see the roles are reversing.

Americans are fascinated by European culture, tradition and history, increasingly watching the lives of Europeans, looking for European products, opening up to new opportunities – but this time Made in Poland. They are looking at European companies and are eagerly inviting them to cooperate. One of the example of this is the great success of the 50-year-old Polish company – Ernest Rust, which kitchen interior we can admire from November the 14’th at the National Building Museum in Washington during the exhibition: Making Room: Housing for a Changing America, organized by Citizens Housing & Planning Council, Resource Furniture and Clei.

This is a great chalange for our company and proof that as Polish people we can be proud of our accomplishments, hard work and openness to new ideas. I can’t hide that we were surprised when we were invited to join the project. However, it turned out that it is RUST’s kitchen, which will be the main point of the program – commented Patryk Rust, co-owner of the company.

The Company was invited to participate in the exhibition due to the its achievements and merits of the kitchen furniture industry. 50 years of tradition, constant development and expansion into foreign markets caused the RUST is one of the interior design companies that created a full-size home: The Open House. The space designed by the Italian architect Pierluigi Colombo, perfectly illustrates the importance of efficiency and flexibility in the creation of interior so that it can be adapted to the needs of different family members over the years.  Moreover, the latest design and construction solutions are shown on the exhibition to meet the growing housing needs of American people. This is also a response to changing trends and increased interest in innovative solutions implementation, micro apartments, shared flats or the trend of building cottages.

The opening of the exhibition took place on 14.11.2017. RUST kitchen created by designers team led by Marcin Fatyga delighted all the participants of the meeting. Author’s kitchen on the one hand responds to the growing demand for functionality, and on the other hand emphasizes the need for individualism, the implementation of modern technologies and the creation of space so that different users can benefit from it over the years.

Particular attention should be paid to the peninsula system, which, by using a mirror foot and a technologically advanced lifting system, leaves and raises upwards, giving the possibility of adjusting the height of the peninsula to the height of the kitchen user. Among the proposed solutions there are also solutions such as: system of invisible sink, retractable TV, or invisible weight measurement system – developed jointly with our partner HODER Natural Stone Processing Center.

– In our interior we wanted to show the latest technological solutions that have a significant impact on the functionality of the kitchen and its use, on the other hand we decided to use classic form and subdued color to show timelessness, minimalism and topicality – adds Marcin Fatyga, CDO designer of RUST company.

This is the beginning of a beautiful story, adventure which will last for 10 months, that wouldn’t be possible without our partners: Forner, ICA Polska, Miele Polska, Peka and Laminart. About our kitchen and its solutions will still be loud, and we will try our best to spread the secrets of its success and uniqueness – concludes Anna Domin Marketing Manager. This exhibition is a continuation of the event which was organized in 2013 under the same name and by the same institutions in the City Museum of New York.
